Rudder

2/12/2023

·      The skeleton for the rudder.

·      I have had a cold and have not gotten all that much done.

·      Note the little white jig on the band saw.  This is just a piece of 1”x2” PVC cut at an 8 degree angle.  All of the ribs for the rudder have to be trimmed the same way, and this made the cuts straighter and more uniform.

·      The rudder all clekoed together.

Rick Prinzing came by and inspected the rudder.  He said everything looked OK.

·      This is the setup for countersinking the trailing edge of the rudder.  The piece of metal taped to the 2x4 is a wedge that Cleaveland Aircraft sells.  It has the right angle for countersinking the trailing edge.

·      Rick Prinzing came by again.

·      The completed rudder.

·      Tom arrived on 3/8/2023.  He has been working on the horizontal stabilizer while I finished the rudder.  You can see the skeleton for the horizontal stabilizer on the work benches.

·      The wing kit arrived on 3/7/2023.  You can see it on the floor in the corner of the garage by the white storage cabinets.
